precious city

I walk
the street lamp sputters
it warms
it glows
it becomes a diamond in the jeweled landscape of the city
this is what I love about urban life

after the storm

In a state
where the colour and textures
of the queen on the back of a one dollar coin
is totally enthralling

where the particles of dust
dancing in a sunbeam
is absolutely gorgeous

Where the silver sparkle
of a spray of water
is perfection

I could watch the bamboo
swaying in the breeze
for an eternity
in this state.

In the night

The sky is black
There are no stars
and no moon.
The wind is blowing.
The clouds ripple.
Thin.
Dissapear.
A full moon and a star blanketed sky
Shine proudly over a warm nite.

maybe more

I can only image you
I can not touch you.... taste you.... see you....
The world keeps us apart
as close as our souls may be
I want you as much as I’ve wanted anything
I’ve needed you as much as I’ve needed anything

maybe more....

To touch you would be absolute bliss
To feel your breath on my cheek
To taste your lips
To gaze into your eyes and look for the universe

Would there be anything better?
Could there be anything better?

I don’t know
Because I don’t know you yet
I have not met you

You were almost just a detached voice
That I love to hear

And you turned into so much more
You are a kindred spirit
Who lights my soul
and illuminates my life
Offers hope to a soul that still wanders,
lost
with only hope left to live for

Vanilla

I woke up this morning and peered at my ceiling for an hour.
All I could see was your face
It flowed from one space to another, living in my every moment
The sound of your voice won’t leave my ears
I laid there and saw you and listened to you
I finally got up and lit a candle
The scent was vanilla
Your perfume
I opened the curtains and let the light of morning in
It warmed my head and neck and tummy and feet
and my lips
oh god. your lips
I can still taste your lips
Your kiss warms me to the bottom of my soul
I looked into my soul and saw yours too
Now I know I’m in love
