April 10, 2002 "China, not just China, but China Again" - So yesterday I was at work, and I checked my e mail, and got a couple of messages from Canada World Youth kids, saying that they had been called about their programs they were going on.... so I was like OMG...gotta check my voice mail.... So I run into my bosses office and check my mail.... and there was a message from Kathy telling me to phone back.... So I do, and as the phone was ringing I ask Cathy (my boss) what time it was, and she said 4:33.. and as she says this, the Voice Mail Picks up and says "you have reached the satellite office of canada world youth.... office hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm".... missed by three minutes, damnit.... so I was so nervous for the rest of the evening.... and then this morning, my mum was like "Get out of bed... I can's wait anymore.. I NEED to know" So I dragged my arse out of be at 9:00 this morning and called Kathy... Who said yes, I had a program placement and that it was in China(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

"OH MY GOD"

I believe was my response, voiced loud enough to be heard downstairs, through my closed door in the kitchen. I was so pumped. I ran downstairs into the kitchen and jumped around like a mad man. After my family was gone, I blared my Chinese pop music and browsed through my scrapbook from my last trip (which, in case your interested, can be read about here).

So yeah... going to China again.. oh and the first part of the exchange is in BC.... Talk to all of you later!!!

(I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

April 1, 2002 "Overwhelmed" - Have you ever felt that you couldn't take the world in fast enough? That's how I fel ttoday. there's just so much to know, and I want to learn it all as fast as I can, but that's not fast enough. I was so frustrated. I want to read every book I have and go out into the world experience as much as possible, but I can't yet.... Well, as long as I can go on this exchange... I should be able to gain a great experience...

March 30, 2002 "Guelph" - Aboriginal peer education: A pioneer in programs
This session features yet another innovative program from Port Alberni B.C.'s internationally acclaimed Youth Health Centre's Peer Education Program. Recognizing that First Nations youth and First Nations communities have health needs that often differ from those of other communities, a group of Aboriginal peer educators are working to develop culturally relevant capacities in themselves and in their communities so they can meet their own health needs.

This is what's being written about me in the pamphlet that's going out for the Guelph Sexulatity Conference that I"m presenting at... I'm a little bit flattered by it

March 27, 2002 "Elation" - I went to Vancouver for the second half of my spring break and had one of the most amazing trips I've had in a long while. I went to Karaoke (something that I don't think I'll ever do again) and went shopping... I bought some Calvin Klein underwear, and now Idon't think I'll ever be able to go back to any other kind.finally tracked ... and went to Obstruction... Have I told all of you about Obstruction? I better.. It's at 1112 Davie st and is one of the best shops ever.. I've bought all my latest clothes there and they're really friendly... and have hella good hoodies, shirts, pants, etc... they lack the "you're to ugly to shop here attitude that so many main stream retailors have... If you get a chance to stop in, I highly reccomend you do...

moving on...

The last part of my trip to Vancouver was my Canada World Youth Pre-Orientation Camp. I must say that it was a truly deep honour to participate in this with the group of people that I did ....All of you were truly amazing people.... It's not very often you can get 21 people together and have them be so open with each other... Thank to all of you!!!!!!!!! well, now I'm home again and, I think I'm the happiest I've been in a really long time...

March 16, 2002"Finally a Change!" - I spent the first day of my spring break creating this website... I'm not exactly off to the most exciting start, now am I? Oh well... I'm sure things will pick up once I've gone to Vancouver.... and my nephews showed up today... Isiah & Cedric... They'll be spending the night and we'll be bringing them back to Nanaimo tomorrow. It'll be Isiah's 9th birthday....
